Rated: Not Rated
Introduction:
·····Everyone's heard of the Blair Witch, but have you heard of the events that inspired it? In 1817, an evil spirit appeared in the rural Tennessee home of John Bell and his family. The demonic presence terrorized the locals and baffled investigating clergy with quotations of Scripture. Then, it commits murder...
The Film:
·····Despite obviously being a low budgeted film, the filmmakers get alot of mileage out of the little cash they had. Spooky, scary and essentially well done- especially with the absence of flashy special effects. Only problem is the running time, 122 minutes is overdoing it to tell this story. *** ½
- Video Quality:
Widescreen presentation. ***
- Sound Quality:
No specifications listed, but the sound is crisp throughout the film. ***1/2
- DVD Extras:
A 45 minute documentary, and 40 minutes of deleted scenes. ***
Final Thoughts :
·····All in all, a well executed film. Acting quality by a cast of unknowns range from decent to very good. A good rental in you're in the mood for a scare, but it would have been better had another 20 or so minutes been cut out.
